Watson Memorial Child Development Center (WMCDC) provides a nurturing environment where parents and children from diverse backgrounds will find a solid foundation for learning, encouraging social skills, developing gross and fine motor skills, exposing each child to the community and the world around them.
The Creative Curriculum is used as the road map to guide our teachers with the appropriate skills and tools to develop our children to becoming socially, emotionally, and physically healthy.
WMCDC is a ministry of Watson Memorial Teaching Ministries, a church that is sensitive to the needs and lifestyles of individuals in the New Orleans and surrounding areas from a culturally relevant experience. Watson Memorial was founded in 1925 by the late Bishop Thomas B. Watson whose desire was to “train up children in the way they should go.”
Our loving staff has been trained by the Pensacola Christian Schools (known for the Abeka Curriculum) and are certified and trained in Pediatric First Aid, CPR, Medication Ad‐ ministration and Infectious Diseases and have received training in Early Childhood Education. All of our teachers have at least 7 yrs of child care experience and are excited about nurturing your child.
